The Diocesan Services Fund (DSF) is the annual appeal that supports the multiple ministries of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Supporting this appeal is a meaningful way of fulfilling our stewardship responsibility and expressing our gratitude to God for his many blessings.
The Second Vatican Council recognized that the laity not only has the right but the responsibility to actively share the mission of the Church. The DSF presents a worthy opportunity for you to share in building and sustaining a community of faith within our Archdiocese.
A letter from our Pastor, Fr. Lawrence Jozwiak
A new DSF year begins. Each year since I have been pastor we have exceeded our mandatory goal. Thank you for your generosity. Last year we surpassed our mandatory goal of $131,000 by $42,753. 50% of that amount was returned to the parish, and the other 50% went to assist poorer parishes who struggle to pay their bills, especially with unexpected large expenditures, building repairs, etc.
By now, all registered parishioners should have received from the Cardinal an invitation to donate to the Diocesan Services Fund (DSF) for the coming year. This year’s theme for the 50th anniversary of DSF (1966-2016) is “His Mercy endures forever (Psalm 136).” This year’s mandatory goal is $135,000. Based upon your generosity with surpassing our goal last year, we can meet this mandatory goal once again. But the most important reality beyond meeting a goal is the privilege and responsibility to help others in need. Out of God’s many blessings for us, let us share our blessings with one another.
