Jeong-Suk Bae is the Assistant Organist at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. She earned her DMA degree in organ performance at the University of Houston under Roberts Bates and Matthew Dirst (harpsichord) and teaches organ at the University of St. Thomas.
She performs as a solo organist and collaborative keyboardist throughout the greater Houston area regularly: the organ/chamber recital series at the Co-Cathedral, Chorus Angelorum’s Evensongs at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Walsingham, Lenten Organ Recital Series at the Christ the King Lutheran and First Evangelical Lutheran, and concert series with the Houston Chorale Society and Houston Camerata.
As a scholar, Bae presented a workshop on Pasquini’s Partimenti at the 2018 Historical Keyboard Society of North America Conference and the 2016 National AGO Convention in Houston and published an article Early Fingering: Theory and Practicality in CUSTOS, the Danish Journal of Early Music, in September 2016. In 2013, she presented a paper, Seventeenth and Eighteent-Century Italian Keyboard continuo Improvisation and its Application to Buxtehude’s Trio Sonata op. 1 and 2, at the Westfield National convention.
