Since 2004, Schola Cantorum has been serving the English and Spanish language community of the Co-Cathedral Parish. Members of the Schola Cantorum, a group of professional singers, professors, teachers, and choral conductors, collectively sing for over 350 Co-Cathedral liturgies annually, either as an ensemble or as cantors and music leaders.
The team charter of Co-Cathedral Music is simple: we seek to worship, teach and inspire. We accomplish this primarily by providing music that sings and serves the liturgy. We also instruct all ages in the function, history, and technique of music making, and we provide concerts for the Houston community in a sacred space that aurally and visually evokes the glory of God. Cor Jesu, the Co-Cathedral’s English-language adult choir of volunteers from all walks of life, has served the parish since 2004 and sings for over 65 parish liturgies annually.
