The Co-Cathedral music department serves the liturgical life of this church, an active Roman Catholic parish community at the heart of Houston. The Sacred Liturgy is at the center of who we are and what we do. All parish ministries flow from this “source and summit.” Each ministry begins in worship and progresses outwards into arenas of service, education, and community engagement according to the particular charisms and competencies of its ministers and staff. In short, we pursue the motto “worship, teach, and inspire.”
Our ministerial staff is primarily charged with the planning, supervision, and execution of liturgical music in our parish and bears responsibility for good outcomes. As a cathedral we hold a vast variety of liturgies and non-liturgical events throughout the year, serving both parishioners and guests, alike. In addition to leading the liturgical assembly to fuller participation in the Rites as they are celebrated in this cathedral church (e.g. Sunday Masses, weddings, funerals), we often provide educational opportunities (e.g. lectures, lessons, workshops), and host inspirational musical programs (e.g. organ recitals, choral concerts).
The Co-Cathedral annually sustains a high volume of requests to schedule such events. To better facilitate the scheduling, organization, and planning of events which require the involvement of Co-Cathedral Music we have outlined a number of policies. The forms on this page are available for your convenience and to help us serve you most effectively. Please download any pertinent document, fill out all requested fields, and return as instructed:
